Children’s’ drawings of possible futures for the farmhouse are presented alongside proposals made by experts and professionals. Planning permission for any changes to the house would take careful negotiation with many interested parties, and the majority of those in our survey would regard such developments as ruining the original cottage’s relationship to its surroundings. It is difficult to develop new uses, environmental technologies and cutting edge businesses for buildings in such locations as The Lake District National Park, whilst ensuring the current image and qualities of the landscape are maintained.
